Learning French in Strasbourg at the Heart of European Institutions
5 March 2026

International students from Stralang Institute, a French language school in Strasbourg, recently took part in a guided visit to the Council of Europe as part of their French as a Foreign Language (FLE) programme.

This educational activity reflects Stralang’s teaching approach, which combines French language learning, cultural discovery and immersion in the European environment of Strasbourg.

A linguistic and cultural immersion

During the visit, students discovered the role and missions of the Council of Europe, an important European institution dedicated to promoting human rights, democracy and the rule of law.

This experience also allowed participants to practice French in a real-life context, outside the classroom, while gaining a deeper understanding of Strasbourg’s international and European environment.

Learning French in immersion in Strasbourg

At Stralang, we believe that language learning goes beyond classroom lessons. Cultural and educational activities are an essential part of the learning process.

Institutional visits, cultural outings and real-life experiences allow our international students to practice French while discovering the rich cultural and institutional environment of Strasbourg.

We warmly thank the Council of Europe for their welcome and for this enriching visit.

Strasbourg, a European capital, offers an exceptional environment to learn French in an international context.
