Who are we?

The Stralang Institute is a private institution of higher education declared before the Education Office of Strasbourg and the Lower Rhine Prefecture. The Stralang Institute is labeled «FLE Quality», and «Qualiopi» a member of Campus France, the FLE Group, and the International Federation of French Teachers. 

Located close to the University campus and other international institutions, the institute offers French language and culture courses at all levels in a university setting, with French as a foreign language (FLE) teachers.

We have a team of qualified, experienced, dynamic, and motivated trainers who are at your disposal to teach you French in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere.

Our courses are aimed at any non-French-speaking person who wishes to start or deepen their knowledge of the French language. They are also aimed at all those who want to prepare for the TCF (French Language Proficiency Test), TEF (French Language Assessment Test), DELF (French Language Studies Diploma), and DALF (Advanced French Language Diploma).

The objectives of our courses are to:

  • Teach our students to communicate in French spontaneously and allow him to react easily in every day and/or professional situations. 
  • Develop your oral expression through situations.
  • Learn to write and deepen your knowledge. 
  • Deepen your knowledge of French society, culture, civilization, and literature.

Our classes are limited to 13 students to facilitate learning and communication. All levels of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) are taught. The different courses give the right to obtain ECTS credits on the basis of an ECTS credit for 27h of workload (27h of ongoing presence at the institute). For a better follow-up of our students, weekly and monthly evaluations are organized, so you can evaluate your progress in real time.

Course calendar:

The school is based on the academic calendar (September to June) consisting of monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and/or annual sessions. There are also summer courses organized in sessions of 2, 4, 6 or 8 weeks (July and August).

The Stralang Institute is located at 820 feet’s from the university campus, close to the university residences and 10 min from the Council of Europe, the European Parliament and the European Court of Human Rights. Tram line F (terminus Place d’Islande) and bus line 2 (Place d’Islande) serve the institute.

  • From Entzheim airport: take the train shuttle (TER) to Strasbourg train station.
  • From Strasbourg train station:

a) Take bus number 2, direction Jardin des Deux Rives and get off at the stop Place d’Islande. The Stralang Institute is on your right.

b) For connection, take tram D, direction Port du Rhin/ Kehl Bahnhof or tram A direction Illkirch Graffenstaden. Get off at the Homme de Fer stop and take the tram F to Place d’Islande. The institute is right across the street.

c) For connection, take tram C, direction Neuhof R. Reuss. Get off at the Observatoire stop ans take tram F to Place d’Islande. The institute is right across the street.
